Vehicle overview
This real 1967 Chevrolet Chevelle SS hardtop received a complete frame-off restoration and is finished in Targa Red with Glamour clear coat, black side stripes, a blacked-out rear panel, and a black interior. The body was completely restored with laser-straight panels, precise gaps, and smooth surfaces from the rocker panels to the roof. The paint was polished to a glass-like finish, while the chrome, trim, lenses, weatherstripping, and seals were replaced during the restoration. Exterior equipment includes optional bumper guards, dual mirrors, a power antenna, tinted glass, 15-inch Rally wheels, and BFGoodrich radial redline tires. The interior was meticulously restored with reupholstered seats, additional bolstering in the front bucket seats, reproduction door panels and armrests, replaced carpeting, reproduction rubber floor mats, a replaced headliner, matching sun visors, a working dome light, and a new rearview mirror. The restored dashboard contains factory gauges and a blinker tachometer. A reproduction steering wheel is mounted on a tilt column, and the center console includes a working clock and a Hurst shifter. Factory power windows and the complete set of original seatbelts are also included. Although presented as an SS 396, the car is powered by a 454-cubic-inch Chevrolet V8 rated at 375 horsepower and cosmetically presented as a 396. The engine was rebuilt, balanced, and bored 0.030 inch over, and it features 10.25:1 compression pistons, a Comp Cams Extreme Energy camshaft, polished aluminum intake manifold, Holley 800 CFM carburetor, HEI ignition, and ceramic-coated Hooker headers. Additional equipment includes power steering, power brakes, modern air conditioning, chrome valve covers, a chrome master cylinder, chrome alternator, a working underhood light, connected windshield-washer nozzles, and a glass bottle for windshield-washer concentrate. The trunk lid and jamb are finished to match the exterior and include reproduction labels, replaced weatherstripping, a trunk mat, a black-painted spare wheel with a matching redline tire, and the jack assembly. Underneath, the body was removed from the frame and the chassis was completely restored. The front suspension and steering were rebuilt, while the rear suspension was rebuilt and upgraded with solid control arms and a sway bar. The braking system was completely replaced and upgraded to four-wheel disc brakes, including a replaced emergency-brake assembly. The car also features a custom dual exhaust system with an X-pipe and Flowmaster mufflers. The engine underside is finished in Chevrolet Orange and fitted with a high-torque starter. A reproduction Auto Gear M22 Rock Crusher 4-speed manual transmission sends power to a 12-bolt Positraction rear end with 3.55 gearing. The floors are clean metal finished in black, and the chassis has a smooth black finish.
