1955 Chevrolet Bel Air

This genuine V8 Bel Air hardtop received a body-off-frame restoration and is finished in bright red with an off-white two-tone treatment and a red interior. The body is straight, rust-free, and fits well, with doors that close properly. The paint is polished to a glass-like finish with no obvious flaws. The chrome and trim were replaced or restored, the stainless window flippers operate when the doors open, and the bumpers are smoothed without exposed bolts or seams. Additional exterior features include fuel-door trim, an original-style antenna, dual mirrors, replaced smoked glass, and staggered Billet Specialties wheels measuring 17 inches in front and 18 inches at the rear. The interior retains an original-style appearance with custom upgrades, including reproduction seat upholstery and door panels, original-style window cranks and handles, a Bel Air headliner with chrome ribs, premium tight-weave carpeting, reproduction floor mats, and smooth gloss-painted metal trim. It also features a custom set of matching gauges with a hot-rod-style tachometer, a polished tilt steering column, a custom steering wheel, a floor-mounted ratchet shifter, and front seatbelts. Power comes from a 400-cubic-inch small-block V8 rated at 350 horsepower and equipped with AFR aluminum cylinder heads, an Endurashine aluminum intake manifold, an Edelbrock carburetor, MSD ignition, and coated headers. The engine compartment has a smoothed firewall, gloss-black finish, concealed wiring, and a modern windshield-wiper system relocated beneath the dashboard. Additional equipment includes a modern heating and air-conditioning system with a polished compressor, polished alternator, CPP power steering, a Wilwood master cylinder, an aluminum radiator, aluminum water pump, overflow tank, custom valve covers, and billet hood hinges. The trunk is boxed and carpeted, with the battery mounted inside a concealed compartment, while the underside of the trunk lid is painted and fitted with billet hinges. The chassis is painted black, and the rust-free underbody is prepared and painted gloss red. New body bushings were installed, and the front steering and suspension were rebuilt with tubular upper control arms and a Hotchkis sway bar. The rear springs, mounting hardware, and shock absorbers were replaced. The brake lines were replaced, and the braking system was upgraded to four-wheel disc brakes. A dual exhaust system with stainless Flowmaster mufflers is installed. The fuel tank is painted gloss red and fitted with a chrome electric fuel pump. A heavy-duty Turbo 400 automatic transmission sends power through a rebuilt driveshaft to a Currie 9-inch rear end. Service work included replacing the valve-cover gaskets and fuel-sending unit, repairing the shift indicator, rewiring the gauges, installing an interior door handle, and replacing the brake switch.
