Vehicle overview

Vehicle Overview

This genuine 1966 Chevrolet Nova SS coupe received a meticulous ground-up restoration and is finished in its original Marina Blue color with added metallic flake and a blue interior. The body is laser straight with consistent panel gaps, and the doors close properly. The paint was polished to a smooth, highly reflective finish. The front and rear bumpers were rechromed, while the grille, bezels, and remaining trim appear original and are in very good condition. The glass is clear with a few minor scratches. It rides on reproduction chrome Rally wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich tires, with wider tires fitted at the rear. The door jambs are finished to match the exterior. The door panels were replaced, while the original interior handles were retained. Interior upgrades include a Church Boys tilt steering column, aftermarket steering wheel, replaced dash pad, body-color dashboard, vintage-style stereo, Vintage Air climate-control system, and a Stewart-Warner three-gauge panel mounted beneath the dashboard. The original gauges, gauge bezel, and control knobs remain in place. A refinished center console with SS badging houses a Hurst floor-mounted shifter for the Muncie M22 Rock Crusher 4-speed manual transmission. The blue front bucket seats were reupholstered and fitted with seatbelts, while the rear seat and side panels were refinished. The rearview mirror, sun visors, headliner, carpeting, and dome light were replaced or restored, and an aftermarket speaker is installed on the rear package shelf. Power comes from the correct 327-cubic-inch Chevrolet V8 producing approximately 300 horsepower. The engine is equipped with a Holley carburetor, Edelbrock Performer intake manifold, AFR aluminum cylinder heads, domed pistons, roller rockers, PerTronix distributor, and long-tube headers. Additional equipment includes a modern air-conditioning compressor, power steering, a replaced master cylinder, an aluminum radiator, and a six-blade clutch fan. The engine is dressed with a polished ribbed air cleaner and matching ribbed aluminum valve covers. The underside of the hood is painted body color and fitted with insulation, while the inner fenders and firewall are finished in satin black. The original cowl tag remains in place, and the windshield-washer nozzles are connected. The trunk lid and jamb are finished to match the exterior, and the weatherstripping was replaced. The trunk pan is solid and finished in factory-style spatter paint, with a full-size spare tire, tire cover, and rubber trunk mat included. The steering and front suspension were upgraded with a Church Boys rack-and-pinion system, larger front sway bar, tubular lower control arms, tie-rod ends, and matching steering column. The rear leaf springs appear fresh, and the shock absorbers were replaced. The braking system uses front disc brakes and rear drum brakes with replaced lines. Long-tube headers feed a dual exhaust system with a crossover pipe, Flowmaster mufflers, and polished tips exiting beneath the rear bumper. The fuel tank and fuel lines appear to have been replaced. The underside of the 327 engine is finished in Chevrolet Orange and fitted with a finned aluminum oil pan. The Muncie M22 4-speed transmission is clean with no visible leaks and sends power to a 10-bolt rear end fitted with a Trick Flow aluminum girdled cover. The floors are solid and rust-free with a satin-black finish. Completed service work included wiring and adjusting the electric choke, installing and wiring a backup-light switch, and shortening the bracket bolts.
