Vehicle Overview

This 1965 Ford Mustang GT Convertible is finished in Silver Blue Poly with white accents, a white vinyl convertible top, and a blue-and-white deluxe Pony interior. The body is straight with well-aligned panels, tight consistent gaps, and doors that close easily. The paint was polished to a smooth, glossy finish. Exterior equipment includes a GT grille with fog lamps, replaced taillights and chrome bezels, rechromed bumpers, 289 and GT emblems, dual side mirrors, replaced glass, rubber seals, and window felts, and a replaced white convertible top with a matching boot. It rides on 14-inch chrome GT wheels wrapped in radial whitewall tires. The deluxe interior features re-cushioned and reupholstered seats, front seatbelts, replaced molded door panels, a driver-side remote mirror control, replaced dash pad, repainted lower dashboard, restored gauges, gauge bezel, glovebox door, glovebox liner, knobs, and levers, and an under-dash air-conditioning unit. Additional equipment includes a replaced emergency-brake handle assembly, Bluetooth stereo with a hands-free microphone, tilt steering column, real-wood Shelby-style steering wheel, automatic floor shifter, replaced carpeting and sun visors, and embroidered Pony floor mats. Power comes from the rebuilt A-code 289-cubic-inch V8 rated at 225 horsepower and equipped with a Holley four-barrel carburetor, Edelbrock Performer intake manifold, ribbed aluminum Cobra valve covers, chrome air cleaner, and chrome shock-tower braces. The car also has air conditioning, power steering, power brakes, an aluminum radiator, Optima RedTop battery, connected horns and windshield-washer nozzles, and replaced belts and hoses. The inner fenders and firewall are painted black. The trunk lid and jamb are painted to match the exterior, the weatherstripping was replaced, and the trunk contains a full-size spare tire with a vinyl cover, a matching vinyl trunk mat, solid rust-free steel painted body color, and an included car cover. The front steering and suspension were completely rebuilt and upgraded with strut rods, a sway bar, and Borgeson power steering. The rear suspension has replaced springs, bushings, and gas shocks. The fuel system was replaced, including the tank, sending unit, and lines. The dual exhaust system includes a crossover pipe, polished stainless-steel mufflers, and GT tips exiting through the rear valance. The Wilwood braking system uses disc brakes at all four wheels and includes a replaced emergency-brake assembly. A C4 automatic transmission sends power through a rebuilt driveshaft to a serviced rear end. The floors are solid metal finished in red-oxide primer.
