Vehicle Overview

This 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air is a retro-restored convertible finished in Onyx Black with a red interior and a black Mercedes cloth power top. It was previously displayed in the Imperial Palace collection in Las Vegas and combines its original-style appearance with mechanical and comfort upgrades intended for regular driving. The body presents with straight panels, good fit, no visible rust, damage, bubbles, or exposed bodywork, and glass-like black paint with minor imperfections consistent with the finish being approximately 20 years old. During the restoration, the chrome and trim were replaced or restored, and the car received optional dual mirrors, fingernail guards, rocker moldings, a rear-mounted antenna, gold license-plate frames, LED taillights, and new glass. It rides on staggered Intro wheels measuring 18x8 inches in front and 19x10 inches at the rear, wrapped in Nitto performance tires. The interior was restored in an original-style red presentation with reproduction upholstery and door panels, gloss-red painted metal trim, black carpeting over Dynamat sound insulation, and reproduction floor mats. Additional interior equipment includes an under-dash tachometer, a floor-mounted Lokar shifter, air conditioning operated through factory-style controls, a retro-style in-dash stereo, an updated clock, and a custom steering wheel mounted on a tilt column. Power comes from a GM 350 crate V8 rated at 340 horsepower, equipped with a GM aluminum intake manifold, an Edelbrock carburetor with electric choke, MSD electronic ignition, and ceramic-coated exhaust manifolds. A complete Zoops front-drive system includes billet brackets and pulleys, a serpentine belt, polished air-conditioning compressor, polished alternator, and modern power steering with a remote reservoir. Cooling components include an aluminum radiator, condenser, transmission cooler, overflow bottle, large electric fan, and a polished rigid radiator hose with compression clamps. The engine compartment also includes an upgraded power-brake booster with a dual-reservoir master cylinder, electric windshield wipers, functional horns, and a secured battery. The trunk has solid metal finished in black and contains a correct rubber mat, an unused reproduction whitewall spare tire mounted on a painted wheel, and the jack assembly. The front suspension was rebuilt and upgraded with a sway bar. At the rear, lowering blocks were installed, and the springs and shocks appear to have been replaced. The car has a dual exhaust system with a crossover pipe, Flowmaster mufflers, and turndown tips concealed behind the rear quarter panels. The braking system was completely updated with four-wheel disc brakes, replaced hoses and lines, and a connected emergency brake. A high-torque mini starter and chrome flywheel cover are fitted beneath the engine. The drivetrain includes a 700R4 overdrive automatic transmission, a new driveshaft, and a rebuilt rear end with 3.36 Positraction gearing. The floors and frame appear to be solid metal.
