This 1959 Chevrolet Impala Convertible received a body-off-frame restoration to factory condition with several mechanical upgrades and was brought from Sweden. It is finished in Snowcrest White with Harbor Blue accents, a blue interior, and a restored white power convertible top with gloss-black framework. Exterior equipment includes a continental kit, decorated fender skirts, door-handle guards, dual antennas, bumper guards, custom mirrors, polished chrome and trim, blue-painted wheels with spinner hubcaps, radial whitewall tires, tailfins, and cat’s-eye taillights. A high-quality hydraulic suspension system allows the ride height to be adjusted from a switch beneath the dashboard and can return the car to stock height. The interior was completely restored with multicolor seats featuring chrome accents, restored door panels, replaced blue-and-black speckled carpeting, reproduction floor mats, a restored steering wheel and dashboard, a retro-style stereo installed in the factory opening, and a rare power seat. Power comes from a correct 283-cubic-inch Chevrolet V8 rated at 185 horsepower and equipped with stock exhaust manifolds, a carburetor with a glass fuel bowl, stock-style valve covers, and a stock air cleaner. The generator was replaced with an alternator, and the car retains factory power steering and power brakes. The engine compartment was restored with neatly routed wiring, a secured battery, connected horns, and painted metal surfaces. The trunk contains clean metal painted Harbor Blue, the hydraulic system with its own battery, a spare tire, and a restored power-top pump. The suspension and steering were completely rebuilt. The factory drum-brake system was rebuilt, the emergency brake is connected, and the dual exhaust system uses glasspack mufflers. The fuel system was replaced. The underside of the engine is finished in Chevrolet Orange and includes the correct canister oil filter, starter, and fuel pump. The original 2-speed transmission was replaced with a 700R4 overdrive automatic transmission. The original date-coded 1959 rear end has 3.36 gearing. The chassis components, frame, and floors are clean, smooth metal finished in satin black. Completed service work included repairing the reverse lights, calibrating the speedometer, tightening the sun visors, repairing the fuel gauge and interior lights, and servicing the hydraulic system.
