1949 Chevrolet 3100 Deluxe

This five-window Chevrolet pickup received a body-off-frame restoration and is finished in Cortez Silver with a gray custom interior. The all-metal body, including the fenders and running boards, is straight with no visible rust or damage. Exterior modifications include removed and filled moldings, door handles, emblems, and fuel cap; a filled and smoothed hood seam; frenched headlights; a frenched power antenna; custom mirrors; a power-operated cowl vent; remote-operated doors; and a custom rear roll pan with recessed taillights, a recessed license plate, and a flush-mounted third brake light. The metallic silver paint has evenly applied metal flake and a smooth, glossy clear-coat finish. The front chrome grille and bumper were restored, the vent windows were eliminated in favor of one-piece door glass, and new smoked glass was installed throughout. It rides on 15-inch chrome Torque Thrust wheels with Hankook tires and wider rear fitment. The custom-upholstered interior includes two six-way power leather bucket seats, upholstered door panels and headliner, a center console with storage and cupholders, power-door-release controls, power-window switches, custom gauges, a billet steering wheel on a tilt column, a retro-style stereo with auxiliary inputs, speakers behind the seats, and retractable three-point seatbelts. Power comes from a fuel-injected 350-cubic-inch LT1 V8 producing 330 horsepower and equipped with headers, a cold-air intake, aluminum valve covers, and an aluminum intake cover. The engine compartment has smooth metal surfaces painted Cortez Silver and a modern serpentine accessory system with an alternator, power steering, and air-conditioning compressor. Cooling is handled by a Howe aluminum radiator, electric fan, and overflow reservoir. The cargo bed features a Chevrolet bowtie embossed into the front panel, refinished wood flooring, painted steel strips, stainless hardware, a flush-mounted fuel filler, and custom tailgate hardware. The front suspension was replaced with a Heidts independent system using tubular upper control arms, coilover shocks, drop spindles, and rack-and-pinion steering. The rear suspension was rebuilt with new bushings and shocks, an upgraded sway bar, and adjustable air suspension controlled from the cab through an onboard compressor. Additional underside equipment includes a relocated stainless-steel fuel tank, dual exhaust with glasspack-style mufflers, four-wheel power disc brakes, a custom emergency brake, remote battery terminals, and a high-torque starter. A 700R4 overdrive automatic transmission sends power through a custom driveshaft to a 10-bolt rear end. Service work included replacing an air-conditioning hose and recharging the system, replacing the steering wheel, servicing the driver-side window, and installing a return spring on the brake pedal.
